Ch 90 – Life Safety Code

90-1. Adoption of standards.

The town voted to adopt the National Life Safety Code, NFPA Doc. No. 101, edition currently being enforced by the State of New Hampshire Fire Marshal's Office.

90-2. Violations and penalties.

A fine shall be levied against violators of the National Life Safety Code adopted by the Town of Conway as follows:

  1. Any person who keeps or places a liquid propane gas (LPG) tank having a rated capacity of more than twenty-five (25) pounds in existing buildings or buildings under construction shall be punished by a fine of one hundred dollars ($100) per tank for each such violation.
  2. A person who owns or maintains custody and control of a building of a building open to the public having locked exit doors hall receive one (1) verbal warning for the first violation and a written warning for the second violation and be punished by a fine of up to twenty-five dollars ($25) for each violation after a written warning for the same building.

90-3. Installation of automatic fire extinguishing systems.

All businesses dispensing gasoline to the public which construct, reconstruct or expand gasoline dispensing systems serving the public must concurrently install approved automatic fire-extinguishing systems for the gasoline dispensing systems.
